Well meaning friends are a constant reminder that I am no longer a spring chicken when they keep sending humorous jokes to my emails pictures of wrinkled old women and jokes about old age which keeps me in high spirit and easing the aching muscles after a good laugh.
Being in the 50s I have thus long passed the peak of life where the waters divide. That half century mark is when we can do just as much as ever but would rather not. As long as we keep ourselves in good health, we will always feel the vibration of youth very much in us. I am baffled and have no idea why we age, considering that our bodies are constantly regenerating themselves. It is only with bad diet, poor health choices (drinking, smoking etc) stress, our deep rooted beliefs/programming that aging is normal and the biggest factor of all: the baggage that drag around with us everyday makes us old.
Aging may be unnecessary and should be classified as being a disease, rather than something that is a normal part of life. So, then, why do we age?
hi dear .. what a question, why do we age ..
ReplyDeletei believe in the term 'wear & tear' when we use something alot it seems to deteriorate and at one point of time just give up ..
just look at ourself as cars... a brand new car and used car ... they are both so much different in many ways ...
getting old is not a disease at all ... as disease is having an 'intruder' unwanted virus present in our body ...
I may not have the wisdom of King Solomon, nor the prophetic views of Apostle John, but I understood that aging happens because of sin. Our first parents sinned against God and that was the start of all the troubles we have, including aging as part of our normal life. I think that I need to view it as normal part of life and I don't need to shrink thinking and considering that one day, I will grow old, if I don't die young. I believe that you are blessed because you have reached half a century when few people reach that age. I am not sure if I can reach that age. Enjoy being that seasoned woman
ReplyDelete"What goes up, must come down," was a truism until space travelers on the way to the moon discovered that "up" and "down" is an anomaly . All things are relevant, including Youth, and Old age. No living thing ever dies, but reincarnates, including all forms of plants, and animals. All living things are inter-dimensional Spirit first, with a Physical body, composed of third dimensional elements which age and are eventually returned to dust from whence they came. At age 76 I tend 400 colonies of honey bees. I am healthy and fit, thanks to 65 years as a farmer, a carefully crafted diet, and over 30 years as a Yogi. I have found Aging a temporal effect, an illusion, like waxing and waning of the moon. Depending on your belief, growing old can be a fallacy, a choice, or (and God Forbid) a disease!
ReplyDeleteJust remember that you must grow old, but you never have to grow up! Staying "young at heart" keeps your body young as well. So the trick to staying young is being light-hearted and not let stress get the better of you. This can be difficult at times, but music really seems to help with it. Also, a good laugh always does the trick. Trying not to worry is key to warding off stress. Worry is interest paid on bills that have not come due yet! Above all, remember that stress kills!
